pvmoweracing went online on April 26th, 2007. The site is one of the first web sites specifically for California lawn mower racing. For lower maintenance, plug in features were used in some areas, like the photo section and this forum.

To PVLMR members: I will need a few things in oder to get the blog up and running. Send me your email addresses and you will be invited to become authors on the blog.Anyone can comment on anything whether they're a member or not.But PVmower guys should be authors on the site. Also- I am going to set up email accounts for users who want to be sent emails from the site. Because of the fact that our server doesn't allow emails to be sent through the server and into outside email accounts, the email accounts are set up through our server. So the email addresses will be something like:
seth@pvmowerracing.com, etc.

If you are thinking of becoming a member of our group, there are rules and regulations that must be followed in order to make the sport safe, fair, and accessible. In other words, there is more to the sport than simple showing up in Grandpa's old riding mower. Welcome to California Mower racing!!

Hello all,
This blog was formed out of the necessity to encourage more people in California to get together and add more members to a fledgling sport that has taken the country by storm but surprisingly has barely started in California. We are a small group so far of around 10-15 people or so, but this number is quickly growing. Since this is a new blog, everyone is encouraged to post whatever topics they feel would be helpful. Feel free to post pics of your ride too. Even if you don't have a mower, jump in anyway! We generally like anything that has an engine stuck to it, so if topics go from lawn mowers to weedeaters- that's ok.

I'll start with myself. I got interested in lawn mower racing about 6 months ago after hearing about it on an unrelated site. I grew up working on small engines and mowing my family's enormous 14 acre yard back in Tennessee, so I already had a lot of time on a riding mower. To me the sport brings back a sense of nostalgia. Since getting into the sport, I've learned a lot and built my first mower, which to my surprise required a lot more engineering and reinforcement. You are really turning a lawn mower into a semi go-cart. So some engineering knowledge is helpful. I had to teach myself how to weld and do many things I've never done. So if I can build something... you can too! here is my mower...
